The winter storm hitting Northeast Ohio forced Trader Joe’s to postpone its Mentor store opening from today - Friday, Feb. 4 – to Monday, Feb. 7.
A ribbon-cutting and brief ceremony is set prior to doors opening at 8 a.m. Monday at 9474 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
A representative said in a release that more than 95% of its employees at the new store are from the Mentor area, but hiring continues; goTrader Joe’s also will continue its Neighborhood Shares program. Through the program, the company will donate 100% of products that go unsold but remain fit to use. They will be given to non-profit, community-based organizations, seven days a week.
