It was thought that there would be no more exits after a slew of stars including Jennifer Zammparelli, the 2 Johnnies and Donncha’s co-host Doireann Garrihy departed the station and RTE announced their new radio line-up
Yet another star has decided to leave 2FM and this time the station’s Breakfast Show is losing another voice in the form of Donncha O’Callaghan.
The statement read: “I’m sure we’d all agree, it’s never easy to step away from something you really enjoy doing.“I’m so incredibly grateful and proud of the last five years in 2FM, I’ve absolutely loved it."Aifric, I know we didn’t get a lot of airmiles together but I enjoyed every minute. Carl and Doireann, ye know exactly what ye mean to me and only one word does it justice – TIME."
Donncha joined 2FM Breakfast in May 2021, linking up with Doireann and Carl on air following the departure of Eoghan McDermott. He is also one of the coaches on Ireland's Fittest Family and last week it was announced that he would return to the reality show alongside Davy Fitzgerald, Sonia O'Sullivan and Anna Geary, who has returned from maternity leave.
