Justice Walter Onnoghen, the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria , on Monday opened his defence in the ongoing trial for alleged assets declaration filed against him by the Federal Government at the Code of Conduct Tribunal .
”On Nov. 4, 2010, I went back there to pay for my personal assets declaration form,’’ the witness said. Umar also told the tribunal that there was no proper foundation backing the witness to tender the document and that the receipt has no revenue number, and was suppose to be provided by the Cashier instead of the witness.
Another document related to the trial was tendered by the witness and was also admitted by the tribunal.
