A phone call between Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and French President Emmanuel Macron was a failure in attempts to isolate Minsk, according to a Belarusian MP. The call discussed regional issues and bilateral relations. The last high-level contact was recorded on February 26, 2022. Belarus has good relations with China, Middle Eastern countries, and Asia. The dialogue with the West continues, but now it is at a new level. There will be serious surprises for those who wanted to isolate Belarus. Minsk is ready for contacts on the principles of respect for national interests and non-interference in internal affairs. The Belarusian side is open to discussing common problems, such as the situation in Ukraine, the migration crisis, the fight against drugs and terrorism.

Такое заявление сделал заместитель председателя постоянной комиссии по международным делам Палаты представителей Национального собрания (парламента) Белоруссии Олег Гайдукевич. Беседа глав двух государств состоялась по инициативе французской стороны. Стороны обсудили региональные проблемы и двусторонние отношения. Предыдущий контакт на таком уровне был зафиксирован 26 февраля 2022 года.
"С сильными, независимыми странами всегда будет идти диалог, когда приходит понимание, что санкциями ничего не добиться. Изоляции не получилось. Европа сама себя изолирует", —По словам Гайдукевича, у республики отличные отношения с Китаем, странами Ближнего Востока и Азии. Диалог с Западом не прекращался, но теперь выходит на новый уровень.
Впереди, как он выразился, серьёзные сюрпризы для тех, кто мечтал изолировать Белоруссию. При этом Минск готов к контактам только на принципах уважения национальных интересов и невмешательства во внутренние дела. Обсуждать же общие проблемы — мир на Украине, миграционный кризис, борьбу с наркотиками и терроризмом — белорусская сторона не отказывается. Разговор, состоявшийся по инициативе французской стороны, также затронул вопросы улучшения отношений между Белоруссией и Европой
