The Russian military uses an 'electromagnetic gun' for demining in recently liberated areas of Donetsk People's Republic, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The weapon creates a strong electromagnetic pulse that triggers magnetic sensors on explosive devices. After treatment, the area is checked with metal detectors.
Москва, 10 мая - АиФ-Москва. Российские военные используют для разминирования освобожденных населенных пунктов ДНР «электромагнитную пушку», сообщило Министерство обороны РФ.
«Военнослужащие 12-й отдельной гвардейской инженерной бригады группировки войск “Центр” при помощи наземного робототехнического комплекса “Курьер” с устройством для создания мощного электромагнитного поля выполняют задачи по разминированию городских кварталов, участков дорог и других районов местности недавно освобожденных населенных пунктов Донецкой Народной Республики», — говорится в заявлении министерства. В ведомстве уточнили, что «электромагнитная пушка» создает мощный электромагнитный импульс, который инициирует срабатывание магнитных датчиков взрывателей. После такой обработки территорий военные проводят контрольную зачистку при помощи миноискателей.
